On Thursday, we went to Station 2 for aerial operation drills. We used their 6 story structure to practice saving victims on the top floor. What a rush...

Then on Saturday morning, my sis, mom and myself went to Davids Bridal to finalize my sister's Matron of Honor dress. We all three picked the one that in the beginning we didn't even like at all. She looks fantastic her dress! Just imagine it in pink:) It's so fun to finally plan my wedding with them!

Now it's a Saturday evening and while most couples are out enjoying their youth, Mike is napping and I am blogging in between feedings. We adopted 2 bummer lambs that have to be hand fed every two hours. Actually he adopted them and I got roped into helping.
I've come to learn that no weekend will ever be typical again.
I'm such a structured person that it took me a while to be okay with spontaneity but now i love it!

Sweethearts Ball

Back when the fire department first began, they used the Sweethearts ball as a celebration for those FD members who made it home to their sweetheart and family.
Now we use it as a thank you to our sweet heart for putting up with us and sticking around through it all.
Here are some of the things my sweet hearts deals with on a regular basis.
  • My pager go off in the middle of the night, on Christmas, during family dinners and he never asks me not to go.
  • I am surrounded by 40 men and he never gets jealous or possessive with my time.
  • When we do have fires, they last for anywhere from 3 to 7 hours on scene.
  • Sometimes I wake him up after a bad call and cry.
  • Like any association there is politics involved so I am constantly venting about something that's irritated me.
  • When I don't feel like going to drill, he makes me because he knows I would be disappointed in my self if I didn't.
  • After a fire, I stink, I am crabby and tired and usually have a headache.
  • For the last three years we have had a serious call on his birthday which means I'm not even around.
  • And the one that irritates him the most, when a car accident comes in over my pager and I can't find him, I panic and call him until he answers. Every time.
Those are just a few. When people joke with me about how often he is gone during hunting season, I just try to remember those things.
Thank you Sweetheart.

Today was a good day

Today was nothing special. Just running errands and talking wedding. Sounds kind of boring to some but it was wonderful to me. My mom picked me up and we ran a couple errands. We shopped a little and took Mike lunch and we laughed when we saw my bright pink ipod clipped to his hickory shirt. Only real men are okay with pink, right? We picked out the dish settings for the reception and decided again to change the color of the bridesmaids dresses. My mom showed me where her new office would be. Then we went to David's Bridal and picked up my dress. I insisted on trying it on even though I wasn't really suppose to. It was amazing how exciting it was when I realized it was MINE! I got all misty eyed when I imagined myself walking down the isle and wondering what Mike would think of my dress. I just want to be married!!
Then Mike and I took turns vacuuming with our new vacuum cleaner. He likes to vacuum...shh don't tell anyone!
And then I giggled when I looked up as Mike walked out the door with a big gun to hunt down the coyotes in the field his babies lambs are in. Only Mike....right??
It was a good day.

Some of Favorite Pictures

Mom right before she got soaked on splash mountain....or was that me that got soaked?

Chief Perry.
Do you think I could just keep my last name at the fire department and change it the rest of the time?

The three of us make a good looking family. Maybe Lissa should just give us Rock.

My sis and I on our last day at Disneyland. Why does she look cute with bat ears on?

I'm not even okay with how old Lydia looks in this picture...at all.

Max and Lydia blowing out Uncle Mike's birthday cake.

I really love my family.

Bravo!

I just walked in the door from watching my brother-in-law (how fun is that to say) as the lead in the production of Emma.
It was fantastic! I have been to several different shows and this was by far my favorite.
Well done, I'm so proud.

More pics of our babies

The first set of twins we had are doing so well. I love it when they cuddle at night. I wish all of them would be as easy as this little family has been.

We were a little worried about this little girl right after it was born. She didn't seem to want to eat but when Mike went to check on her this morning she was completely perked up. I'm so glad:)

Dress Shopping

Here are some dresses that I tried on multiple times before I found the one. The first one was actually my second choice. It had really beautiful pink embellishment. The second one was actually one of my favorites that no one else really liked. It wouldn't exactly go with a garden wedding and Mike would have hated the flower thing on the side.

Nothing like new baby lambs...and Mike

We had our first set of twin lambs on Wednesday. They are so sweet and adorable. The baby girl is the bigger of the two and has an oreo kind of face. Mike keeps saying she looks like a dalmatian. And the little boy is tiny, with floppy ears an adorable chocolate face.
I'm pretty sure Mike is in love with sheep:)

He just called me to tell me we had two more sets of twins.

Considering I grew up on a sheep farm, he is going to fit in my family quite well.
